QUICK Question can you get a letter like that already made like an iron on? Or do you have to have a embodery machine?
Thanks! I think you can get iron on letters, I'm not sure about the fonts though. You could sew a button in the middle where the letter is, to kinda make it look like the middle of a flower...just an idea. I would love to see a picture, Good Luck!

Ok, REALLY dumb question.....

So the tear-away stabilizer, (thinking of this in LAYERS), does that go on the UNDERSIDE of the shirt, then the tshirt on top of that, the the heat 'n bond, then the design that's being appliqued? Does that sound right? Sorry I am a newbie to sewing, but am trying my hand at a few little projects like some skirts for my 6yo dd, and was thinking about doing some appliqued t's for my 3 boys and maybe my nephews that have bdays coming up

Yes, the tear away stabilizer goes on the underside of the shirt (the inside). I always iron the lightweight fusible stabilizer to my material that I am making my applique out of. I have all my applique patterns on cardstock. I then trace my applique off on my material, and then cut it out to sew on the shirt. So when you get ready to sew on the applique it should be a pretty firm piece of material since you have the fusible stabilizer on it. I have an embroidery machine, so it is easier for me, but that is how I would do it if I were you. BTW, you may not even need the tear away if you use the iron on stabilizer. You may have to try one on an old shirt first and just see which way you like it better. I hope I have helped and not completely confused you. Let me know if I can try and answer any more questions! Oh, one more thing, I spray my applique with that sticky stuff, can't think of the name of it, smells like hairspray, before putting it on my shirt to help hold it in place while it is being sewn on. I think there may be a heat n' bond that can be ironed on the applique and then ironed on the shirt as well. Seems like my mom use to use something like that when she did appliques on a regular sewing machine.

Thanks! Yes, I bought the design online, it is an embroidery applique. I think I got that one at gg's designs.
