Default Diaper cake

I made this for a friend's baby shower. This is my 1st one and I think it turned out really good. The diapers are Huggies and are green and I think it throws the color off a little, but oh well. The thing on top is a peanut shaped burp cloth that I made. I still have to finish the hat, mittens, and ribbon onsie. I'm sorry about the crude pics but my camera is in the shop so I used my cell phone. I decorated it with flower pens, ribbon pens, and hair clips. Please feel free to critique and offer ideas!
(it would help if I added the pics!)lol

They aren't as easy as they look, but not really that hard either. I made this one without using any glue. I wanted everything on the cake to be usable for the baby or mother. I always put together some sort of basket for the baby and one for the mom. So I decided that to make my cakes unique, I would make 1 side for the baby and the other for the mother.

That is adorable. did you swirl the diapers or roll them up? I have seen them done both ways. One of these days I'm gonna try one.

one thing i have seen people do is use tissue paper to cover the diapers so that they don't mess with the decoration of the cake. yours is super cute thou, and in the pictures you can't even see any green

TY. I rolled them. I think they look cuter that way and you don't have to use tape or anything that can ruin the diapers.

I have a TON of tisse paper from my pinatas. I never thought to use it for the cake. Thank you!

I just got an order to make one and I just put the pics up last night! I'm afraid I will charge too much or too little. I said that one like this one would be $80, is that too much? I looked up the prices and it seems that they are way more than that! I don't want to be too expensive but I don't want to rip myself off either. Any ideas or advice?

that sounds like a good price to me, you want to make sure you make enough to cover all the items included in the cake then add some for your time, i have the same problem not wanting to charge to much lol!!! my family always tells me your not charging enough =) lol

Hi Tina! I'm anxious to see your pics! I make a ribbon pen by wrapping a regular ink pen with 3/8 ribbon and attaching either a mini cheer bow or a small boutique bow at the top. I do the flower pens the same way, just leave about 1 1/2" of the stem and when I get close to the top I put the stem close to the pen and wrap tight. I use double sided tape to adhere it together.
