Default ? about Duck Hold It Carpet Tape for no-slip clips

For those of you who use Duck brand "Hold It" carpet tape as a no-slip clip liner, do you just peel & stick it on or do you use additional adhesive of some sort? I was looking at it the other day at the store and it didn't seem to me that the adhesive under the peel-off strip was very sticky at all. I thought it might have trouble staying in position with repeated use in & out of the hair, etc.

TIA,

MichelleB

I usually use shelf liner that I hot glue on, but found that you could see it on simple clippies, so I bought the carpet tape. I hot glue it on for extra support. I usually put it on first, to get it lined up where I want it, then pull back half and put some glue, smooth it down, then do the other half. HTH.

I have not put any additional glue on--never really considered doing that actually. I have not had any issues with the stuff coming off or loose on any of the clippes that my daughter uses.

Just stick and peel the carpet tape-- that adhesive won't come off. Believe me, I've tried with clips of my daughter's that I did ages ago. She's had them long enough and been rough enough with them that the foamy part of the tape has come off but the adhesive layer is still there!

I'm trying the silicone now...

This is true. After a few uses, the foam will start to pill off. I have a whole roll that I got at Walmart if someone wants it. I have just taken about 6-7 inches off of it. It is a very big roll. I think I paid like $8.00 or $9.00 for it. Just let me know.
