I have, like everyone already said, shipping is slow, but the quality is very good. Also, you can't return anything so order carefully!

I think it takes so long because they don't carry it in stock there, so once you order, they have it shipped to them and then it's shipped onto you-something like that. It's funny because I ordered some stuff about 2 months ago and one of the items was out of stock (I found this out after I waited 4-6 weeks for it all to come) and the other day I got a pkg from them and had no idea what it was until I opened it because I had forgotten I ordered it. BUT, with that said, they are good with customer service, etc....they could have not sent that to me and I would have never known or remembered!

If you have an account with Lion ribbon, they have faster shipping and the prices are very similar so I've been using them. The only bad part is knowing what they have because it's not all listed online like JKM.

Heres how I do it: There are some things you know you are going to be working on...cheer team or school bows, christmas or other holidays...I order 6 months before I am going to be selling it. For example, I placed an order a few months ago for 1 1/2" red because I know I will be making christmas bows and cheer bows for our school starting this month. If I need something ASAP and don"t have it on hand, thats when I order from Hip Girl or Ribbon Carnival. You just have to plan. Plus they don't hassle you about having a tax id and all the other stuff you will run into with companies like Lion.
That is so good to know. I have to keep that in mind next time I make an order.

I have purchased from them twice.

The first time was fine. I ordered mostly Offray ribbon during their year end sale last December. It took about 3 weeks to receive the order (as someone else said, they do not stock much if anything themselves but batch orders they receive then once they get it ship it on to you). Shipping was relatively cheap, something like $6 for my entire order. I was really impressed with that.

My second order experience a month or two later was not so good. I ordered some Wrights ribbon and some Offray ribbon. Unfortunately for me, this was right at the time they stopped selling Wrights by the 100 yard spools (they only sell it by the 20 yard retail spools now) so they substituted some colors of Offray ribbon for Wrights ribbon that was out of stock without asking me first. It says right on their website that they won't make substitutions without permission but they did it anyway. And some of the Wrights ribbon I did receive was super stiff - it creased instead of bending - junk by my standards. I ended up returning the substituted Offray ribbon (the colors were close to what I had ordered but not what I wanted) and 1 roll of junky Wrights. Although they don't normally accept returns, they accepted mine because they had screwed up my order in the first place and because I made such a fuss. I would consider them an honest seller because they did provide a refund but I haven't ordered from them again because the experience left such a bad taste in my mouth and I've found another source for Offray, which is mostly what I had bought from them. Still, if they had something I wanted at a better price than anywhere else, I'd probably use them again.

In summary, I would recommend them overall, as long as you are willing to wait a few weeks. Also, once you order from them, you'll be placed on their mailing list and get notice of their frequent sales.

HTH,

MichelleB
