PEACE SIGN Designed! Patchwork jeans outfit. Lots of pics!

My friend asked me to design an outfit for her daughters B-day party. She showed me these shoes and I got excited and decided to do an outfit that would match! Shoes are often the basis of my inspiration for an outfit. I have been wanting to do a peace sign outfit 4EVER!

These jeans were a lot of work, and the pics didn't fully capture all the detail! Of course I had to rip the seams first. I applied rhinestones, ruffles, lace, mesh, ribbon, buttons, fabric paint and ric-rac. LOTS of applique and satin stitching work too. I sewed things in a way that will cause them to look better as they are washed since they will fray slightly in certain areas. I made a matching belt, and cut and altered a purchased tank top, making pleated wings on the sleeves. It kinda gave it a Star Trek feel, I think. Of course I had to make bows to go with it!

Mom and B-day girl loved it! I was very happy with it. Nyla begged for me to make her one and was mad that it wasn't for her. LOL

I don't have action shots but the girl looked ADORABLE in it!

Now I have 3 more of these outfits to do with different themes. GOD HELP ME!

P.S. Don't sew when you're sleepy, otherwise you'll do dumb things like sew things on upside-down. Hope nobody catches my mistake, lol.

I wouldn't have noticed the upside down had you not given a hint that something was! HA. Looks great. I can't imagine all the time and detail... Out of curiosity do you mind sharing what you charge for something like that? I don't sew so wouldn't have the slightest idea of how long it took, but it looks like LOTS of time.

We're in a recession, lol. I charge $75 for outfits like these and that is cheap compared to those on Ebay who used to and still sell them for $100 and up! They are incredibly time consuming but each pair is unique and have a lot of personality! Deco jeans were all the rage 2 yrs ago and some may say that they aren't "IN" anymore but I do mines in a way that I feel people will love no matter what!
