Just thought I'd share this with you!!!

I made this Pillowcase Dress about 6 months ago and forgot about it. Reorganizing my photos I found it and thought why not share this with everyone here and maybe get some opinions, thoughts or constructive criticism! I made this for an 18th month old as a gift with a matching bow...

Yowza!! That is super cute! How did you use the fabric to make the bow without it fraying or being floppy, if you don't mind sharing?

Thank you ladies,

The bow was made by 'trial and error'! Once I was done with the dress, I got a strip of about 30" long by I think 3" or 4" wide (don't really remember)! Sewed it along the edges to make a long tube, and made the bow just like I would normally make it with regular ribbon! At the end, the ending tails are sewn as well.

If any of you ladies want to try it, I don't mind at all! It is time consuming, but easy!

No, the dress was actually for a gift to one of my friends baby! I don't have much sewing experience, I do things by chance!

I actually have a couple more dresses that I've made. Let me look if I have pictures of those and will post them soon!

I think that you should give it a try. After a while, you just get addicted, and want to do more!

The red with white dots I made for her first birthday party, and the other dress just to keep learning!

Her 2 yr party is in two weeks and I will be making a pettiskirt for the first time...wish me luck! I really hope it turns out well!

love 'em all! I found a tut (on my comp downstairs) where the top across the chest on the pillowcase dress is elastic and then the ribbon comes out through the sleeves rather than from around the neck. I've been meaning to try it for about 2 weeks now but haven't found the time. I just let my dd pick out some cheap fabric to try it with before I wasted any good fabric. I love the fabric in your 1st and 3rd posted ones! So cute!

I love it! I have been looking for a simple pillowcase dress pattern. I'v seen a lot on line but need a reccomendation for a good one. Can you tell me where you bought your pattern? Thanks!
