I don't know what kind of headband you mean, I've only ever done wovens on headbands that are smooth - no teeth. It takes practice even with those to get your angles right & your tension tight...

You're welcome! I do this with some styles (boutiques, pinwheels), and with others I just tote the ribbon, scissors, thread & needle, then heat seal in batches once I get back to my regular work...
