Re: Anyone know how to make this flower?

Hmm, well I agree, looks like it's just a Kanzashi flower with lots of longer petals. Hip Girls has a tut for Kanzashi flowers you could use and then just experiment with different sizes/lengths....

Re: So I was wondering.....

Well, this is all good to know. I never really thought about the fact that using licensed ribbon to make bows and then selling them would be illegal. I guess that should probably be obvious lol. Good...

Re: A tutu dress with a lattice weave pattern

Hmm, I may have to try out this basket weave style next time I make a tutu dress. Looks like it might be easier said than done lol.

Really Wanted to share...

I just had to share this super cute Ladybug Bow I made the other day. I have been doing this for almost 2 years and have not for the life of me been able to make "perfect" Twisted Boutique Bows, but...

Re: Do not shop rabom!

Exactly. I don't order enormous amounts of ribbon anymore, just want a few new things here and there. But with the way the US has changed the Int'l shipping rates the only way I'm going to be...

Re: Do not shop rabom!

This sucks for me, I order mostly from TRR and HBC and noticed when I ordered from HBC the other day shipping was TWICE as much...that explains it. I think it's ridiculous tbh. I have a difficult...

Re: Do not shop rabom!

This is the exact issue I had with ordering with them. I was going to last year and asked about shipping internationally and received a then lower rate, but still it was around $20-25 as they use one...

Re: How do you secure your bows?

I used to just tie all my bows with elastic cord but I think they hold up better sewing them so I've switched to that. It may take me a teeny bit of extra time but I find my bows stand up better that...

Re: What do you Tie Korkers with?

I tied my first few and didn't like how they looked and was worried about them getting pulled apart by wee ones so I always sew mine now. I find it easier actually, and they look better, imo.

Re: Attaching bows/flowers to headbands - which do you prefer?

I find it's 50/50 with my customers. I have some who really prefer getting the interchangeable headbands so they can get a bunch of headbands to interchange with the many bows/clips/flowers they buy....

Re: Ribbon Width Poll--I use *** Inch Wide Ribbon Most

I use 7/8" for my bows most often.. 5/8" has just been a pain for me with the styles I make and most people aren't interested in larger bows with 1.5" so haven't had much need to use it.

Re: most popular bow

Most people buy fairly basic bows and korkers are pretty popular for me.

Re: HELP!! shipping?!?!?

I do everything through PayPal as well, although I'm setting up my shop with an actual shopping cart through PayPal so it is somewhat different. You should be able to customize everything in PayPal....

Re: Foe headbands? Advice please!

I charge $4.00 for my interchangeable FOE bands and then depending how many flowers/embellishments I add and how they are priced without the band I increase the price. I have some up to $10 right now.

Re: I hate to ask but I have to....

I remember it being a lot busier when I first joined as well. I admit, I have been quiet, and mainly because I haven't had much time to get on the forums in the first place, but I'm trying now. :)

Re: How much do you charge for you tutus?

Based on cost of what I need to make them and how long it takes I charge $25 for my tutus. I make them SUPER full! Unfortunately there are many in my area who are selling theirs for only $15 and you...

Re: What's the big craze in the bow world

I agree, I've seen a lot of feathers going on lately, not just Ostrich, but all different kinds! I've been seeing a lot more OTT bows lately as well, but these are typically not as popular in my area.

Re: Specials, Deals, Promotions Etc.

I do % off once in a while, or if you spend this much you get this free. You could do quantity discounted pricing as a sale also. Buy 1 it's this much, Buy 3 it's this much, Buy 5 it's this much.

Re: Shipping & Displaying Head Bands & Clippies

If I'm understanding this correctly, then I saw on another thread that someone uses the plastic quick ties to keep the headbands tight on the card rather than taping. She wraps it around so there are...
