Default I need help with my gator bite

I just bought a gator bite and seem to be alittle confused on how it works. I hear this thing is awesome!! Would someone be willing to explain how it works to me? Are you suppose to just hand stitch where the creases go? Help!! A newbie who needs help...lol.

I'm pretty sure it's just to hold the bow while you use which ever tie off method you choose.

I don't know if it's just the thread/string I bought, but mine did not stay tight the first time. I have to really hold mine and then I rethread it through after I've tied the front to make my knot in the back. Not sure if that makes sense or not, but that's how I had to do it in order to keep my string tight. It took me a few times before I really started to love it!

I just got one and all I do is fold my ribbon, hold it with the gator bite. While still in the gator bite I wrap my floss around it twice and pull the floss tight and then take it out of the gator bite and finish tying. I love it.

to keep it tight:

when you loop the thread like the first step of tying your shoe put the thread your are looping around, around one more time, Pull tight... then finish with a single square.

I also loop mine around a couple of times. If I thread and tie only once, I cannot get it tight enough either. I tie one time, then thread it back through to the opposite side and then tie a square not.
