Default Accepting Credit Cards at Shows

Hi Ladies! I'm researching different methods of accepting credit cards at my shows. I see that most use Square with their phone; however my phone is not compatible with the scanner and I'm not due for an upgrade for another year. What other methods do you use? Also what merchant service do you use? I don't want to pay a huge amount until I start making a bit more money. Thanks for the help!

Amy

I used propay before square. I have their micro reader but never installed it on my computer... it was easier for me to use their mobile app and go on their website and enter it.

You can call in the credit card number to get approval on the spot.

I am going to be signing up for Propay. I'll also being using an imprint machine (cheap, under $30) at the show to take down the credit card info and then input it into propay when I get home.

I do not know if you have already signed up but I did it by googling etsy propay discount and it gives you cheaper rates as well as a big discount on the propay account..

I know this won't be helpful to you, but I'll just share the info. My budget is tight, but I wanted to have the credit charge option. I signed up for the Square and I ordered a prepaid smartphone from HSN. The phone was $149.00 but with flexplay its broken down to 3 payment of 49.85 (found a coupon code for $10.00). The phone service is $25.00 per month without any contracts (300 minutes--about 275 more than I need-- and unlimited text and web) through Virgin Mobile. This has been the lowest cost option I've been able to come up with.

I just did this so I don't have the equipment yet, hopefully it will work out, I'll have 30 days to test and if it doesn't atleast I can return the phone.
