Hi, I can probably help you on deciding or direct you to where you can find the right information. I have this cutter and a couple of others. What type of materials are you looking to cut?

I'm new to bow making but I do know cutters. Right now the best price for this has been at overstock.com. US Cutter has lowered their price, but with shipping overstock is less, also when you register with overstock they send you a 10% coupon

The Sil is a great machine but I wouldn't recommend cutting felt with it. It will do cotton fabric, stiffened with wondr under for applique or even with freezer paper. It also cuts rhinestone material nicely. Paper and cardstock cut fine, but the heavier paper and glitter papers can be done but with "more effort" there are several groups that will help with cutting guides. It also has spot on print and cut. So if you wanted to print and iron on transfer you can perfectly cut out the design.

Bumping up to a higher price point I would suggest the Gazelle or the Pazzles. This will bump you up to the 400-600 dollars range but you'll get a lot more cutting options ...

The Gazelle is in the 385-425 dollar range, larger cutting area and more cutting power. will handle what you need to cuthttp://sitstayscrap.wordpress.com/ Here's a link to my sorry little blog and my one and only post. Cutting fabric with freezer paper

The Pazzles is 599.00. It will also meet your needs. They have an awesome special on now, where you can get this machine for 99 or 199, by also signing up for their Craftroom at 20/month for either 12 or 24 months. (I don't own this cutter, but this deal is great) the max cut area is 12 x 24. This machine is most like the cricut, but much better. I do not recommnd the Cricut at all, the cost of the catridges will expand beyond the cost of any of these cutters. With any of the machines listed you can cut just about any design you want.

Now if you want to see some AWESOME fabric cutting. Look at this

http://www.iloveknk.com/knk-photo-gallery/appliques/

The Klic-N-Kut and Black Cat cutters are the most versatile and expensive

I don't sell or endorse any brand. I belong to the Make the Cut forum, "shout out to my MTC Hip Girls" I am an affiliate for the cutter software and but I am not currently set up to do sales, just sharing the info because I don't want anyone thinking I'm puhing anything.

If you want more detailed info on cutters just let me know.

Heres some links for the Pazzles
