Question bow maker

I saw in one of the directions they were using a bow maker. Do these make making bows easier? Did you buy one or make one? If you made it how far apart are the dowels?
Thanks

I made my own. I bought a plaque at Hobby Lobby (kind of like a wooden address sign). I spaced mine at 3", 4", 5" and 6". My hubby painted for me and you can get dowels at Wal-Mart or just about any craft/lumber store. If you want to try something out first before buying, you could always use dowels stuck into a piece of floral foam. Just a thought.

Default Well worth it!

After reading everyones comments on this and other posts I decided I would order the Complete Package from The Ribbon Retreat. It was a good decisions since once you place the order they send you all the files via email so you can start right away. The only thing is waiting for the actual bow maker to show up but you can start practicing with all the different types. You can also read ahead all the tips and suggestions so when it shows up you are ready to start. Who likes to open presents that you can't play with right away. not I.

I have TOTT's bow maker. I don't use it since I can make bows faster without it. Anyone interested in it, I can send it for actural shipping cost. Just reply this thread and I'll PM you.

I find it great for making the Standard boutique style bow!! IT really is fast and easy to use!! AMBER you will not be disappointed if you get one!! And I agree with TIFF, TOTT's instructions are a bowmaker's must have. It is the bible for bowmaking! Sooo much information and pictures in that manual!! THE BEST out there.
