Default Woodburner blues

UGH! my second one in a month just died. My first one lasted about 4 months. This last one less that a month. What is the average life expectancy of these things????? It is like my right arm. Hard to function without it! Any suggestions on prolonging the life of them?

I don't know how old your children are, but Katie is 4 and I have had no problems. I just threaten her severely if she comes near it!

The first one I had lasted me 2 years and I gave it to a friend. I got another one that has more tips to pay with. This one has been going strong for 2 years now. It could be the wiring in your house that could be shorting it out.

I lost my second one after just 3 weeks of use. The first one lasted about 6 weeks. I still had the receipt so I took it back to Michaels and got a refund. I bought a new one but went for the higher end model. I'll let you know how it goes with the new one.

I always plug mine into a surge protector, so I don't thinkl that is the problem. I think that model just must have cheap wiring inside that burns out with heavy use.

It is certainly frustrating!

My first one lasted about 2 mths but it was my fault, they don't like to fall on travertine floors, my tip broke and won't come out. But it wks perfect to seal spikes.

Hope the surge protector wks for you.

I have one but I HATE it I am so scared of burning my self or having my 2 yearold burn herself I used it once and it is now stashed in the craft closet! I wholesale all my stuff and I just use a lighter to heat seal (yes I am crazy!)
