It's free also, can't remember how much i paid for shipping. Everything should be listed on the website. The fees are similar for what you would pay for listing fees and paypal fees on etsy and ebay, but definetly comes in handy for shows!

Plus I have Sprint so I would have to pay to get out of my contract plus the new one with ATT which is like $300 so I know it wont fly......oh well looks like he will just have to do shows with me so I can use his phone lol. Im sure he is going to LOVE that!

I have Sprint and just updated to the HTC Evo to use the service The phone was on sale (with a rebate) for $199 with contract renewal but I *think* you can buy one of the lesser droid phones too, check the site!

I have a square for my droid and I love it! They recently changed it so you pay the same for swipes and keying in the card number. My customers love that I can either text or email them their receipt and everyone thinks it's a really cool thing when I pull it out. The only thing I would recomend is a stylus to use for signatures since it's kind of weird to use your finger to sign on the screen. I like that everything is free except for the actual transaction which ends up being like 2 or 3 cents on the dollar or so, but I only pay when I use it and have no monthly fees, I even downloaded the app on my husbands phone and enter my login and he can take payments for me too. It's just neat that people can pay with card at all shows and not having to worry about needing a phone connection or wifi. I like it!

I ordered mine on Monday and rec'd it today. I'm so excited to give it a test run this Sunday.

I did a few test runs with it and I'm having a hard time with the swipe... where it seemed to take 15-20 for it to go through. Did anyone else have this problem and does it get better as you get used to it (and swiping faster)?

I still struggle with the swipe part. It seems pretty touchy to me. Sometimes it takes me a time or two to figure out I have the magnetic strip facing the wrong way. Oops =)
I seemed to have more luck when I tried to do a faster swipe vs. a slower one.

Do you mean 15 to 20 swipes to go through? I never try that many. I give it a few swipes and if it doesn't take I just punch everything in. Otherwise I think the customers get nervous to see you swiping repeatedly - worried it's charging multiple times, etc.

Most customers think it's pretty cool, and I've had some comment that they prefer that to a vendor writing down their cc#.

Yep my customers like that I don't have to write their CC info down too... I love my square!
