Thanks I did cave and bought aleenes glue gun today with my 40% off coupon at Michaels but i'm still debating if I want to buy this kit. $20 is a lot without knowing the quality.

I saw the 5.99 glue pad there but wanted to wait and think over the kit first. I've been using a pizza box for my glue spills and the husband said its got to go off our counter/(my work space)

Not to run on and on but i'm also really excited about my mom possibly selling me her rolltop desk for a craft area...keeping my fingers crossed.

I like the mat! But not sure if I would use the other tools. Right now, I use a paper plate as my work mat or nothing at all (but this is leaving yucky glue drops all over my counter, and they are HARD to get off!!) I definately need to get a nice looking mat formy work space.

I use the surebonder fine tip glue gun. It came with a stand and a spot to catch the glue that is rubber so it does come off easy. It was only 8 bucks plus shipping and works great! My only gripe is the continuous leaking of glue. It is a slow leak though so it doesn't waste too much. Excellent for detail work.

You can get it HERE

I use a single ceramic tile for my mat. The glue scrapes right off and it does not burn my table. I just pick up a few here and there that are odd pieces at home depot or lowes. Sometimes if they are chipped they will just give them to you. I never pay more than .99. I don't care what they look like since that is all I am using them for. I use the same one for a few months then throw it out. Really cheap and it gives you a decent area to use your glue gun!

Tile is a great idea much cheaper and can't look any worse than a pizza box LOL

It actually looks pretty nice on my coffee table if I put my candle centerpiece or my floral arrangement on my dining table on top of tan or cream tile.

I use a cordless glue gun. it came with a stand that catches all the glue drips. I've had for 3 years and still works like new. i think i purchased it from hobby lobby or wal-mart. can't remember.
