Default Aleens glue gun

I have the ultimate glue gun and am about to throw it across the room!! For the third time I am about to have to unscrew it to fix the thingy that pushes the glue down. It is only about six months old! Does anyone else have this problem. I love all the different tips(which are a PAIN to change!!) Is there another glue gun that comes with different tips that you would recommend??

Hmmm, I don't have that glue gun or one with interchangeable tips but the life on my glue guns usually are about six months. I either wear out the heating mechanism or I break the plastic trigger or some other way of destroying it so I just buy the cheap-o ones. May I ask, do you change the tips often? If so, why-like do you use one for lining clips and another for gluing flowers? I'm trying to see the advantages.

Well, I really like the flat one for lining clips. It helps the ribbon look better/smoother. I really like the skinny tip. Not as much gue comes out and I dont end up with such a mess.

I use cheapo glue guns. I considered buying the one the OP is talking about, but my glue guns get all icky and gluey after a couple months, so I just decided to stick with the cheap ones so I can replace them every so often!

I have the Aleene's and I love the flat tip as well. I actually dont change it, I just wanted the flat tip and the fact that it has a higher temp for better attachment. The last glue gun I used could not keep the bottle caps attached and I have not had one problem yet.

I've got the same Ultimate glue gun. I don't have too many problems with it but I felt like it wasn't getting hot enough (I did have it on high temp), which means I wasn't getting burnt by the glue. So I decided to try a Surebonder......let me just say, as I sit here typing one letter at a time....the first time I used it (last night) I burnt 2 fingers on my left hand within 5 minutes of turning it on. That mother-of-a-ribbon-hoarder gets HOT! So either I've been really lucky so far or the Surebonder is a gift from hell.

YEah, I was noticing last night that it is not very hot. Since mine is messing up I went back to my little mini gun and can really tell a temp difference. The glue is so hot it steams when it comes out. I am just gonna have to find something different.

I have had mine for about 1-1/2 years, but it doesn't work as well as it did when I first got it. I love the flat tip and also the small round one. I was at my daughter's house last weekend and used her no name brand one and the glue came out fast and easy - I had way to much because I was so used to pressing hard on my trigger. Didn't realize how bad it was until I used another one.
