woodburner! Instead of a lighter I used to use a candle so I didn't hurt my thumb on the lighter

Not used fraycheck, so can't comment.

Woodburner or a Lighter... W/ Fray Checks, some ribbons, it'll show, some don't.

Woodburner lover here!

It took me a few months to get used to using it, but I love it now .

I use a candle or the woodburner. Most of the time it's a candle because I'm afraid of the kids grabbing the cord or something. If I'm just making something quick I use a bbq lighter.

I've tried fraycheck and don't like it because it doesn't fully seal it. Also tried the candle method and don't like it either...the flame is not always consistent. Now I just use a lighter for my lighter loads and v cuts but if I need to seal a lot of ribbons then I turn on my gas stove very very low and seal them all that way. Kinda weird, but it works for me.

Oh and I've tried the woodburner too but haven't gotten the hang of it yet. I also can't figure out how to do nice even v-cuts??? Any suggestions??? Will a triangle metal ruler do the trick? And how come I can't find them anywhere! I've looked at all the stores

I adore my woodburner!! It's silly but I had it a couple of months before I even opened it! I was using a lighter and liked it so I didn't even bother with it. One day I opened it and tried it and couldn't believe the difference! It's soo much easier and the ends always look nice. I do hate the smell, it gives me a headache on days when my sinuses aren't good! I tried fray check and just didn't care for it at all. My choice would be woodburner then lighter and then fray check.

I know most of you use woodburners but I have access to a place that has the small bottles of fray check for about 1.25 plus tax. If anyone is intrested, the store that sells it had a bunch about 1 1/2 weeks ago and they are closing the store in abt a month or so so if anyone is intrested please just PM me I can pick some up. Please do not post reply here and NO International sorry. They should still have it in stock.
