Default Light Box Experts

Those of you who have light boxes, what type of bulb do you use, I know most come with one in them, but is there something better than what is included in the kit?

Also I've seen some that use three lights and take photo's from the top, is two lights enough, or do you think three is needed for your hairbows and jewelry?

I've thought about making my own, but I think even if I do that, I still have to buy the lights so is it really that feasable rather than buying the kit?
I'm just full of questions today!!!!!
Thanks,
Jeannie

Looks like you need a studio daylight fluorescent bulb with color temprature between 5000-5600K. Please post back if you find some of these. I was planning on looking at Lowes or Home Depot this weekend, but I don't know if they would carry something like this.

Here she says that 2 side lights work best. Maybe it depends on what type of lighting you already have in the room. Good luck! I just made a light box this evening and I hope I can figure out the lights this weekend.

I bought this style of light bulb off of ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I still need a better solution for the lamp part, I bought a couple of clamp lights at Walmart, (HD and lowes have them too) for $8-10. But not sure if I like the clamp part - still working on that, I can't seem to get them positioned just right.

I personally use those outdoor spot lights, the one on the tripods, I use two sometimes one. they give off tones of light but because they get hot fast you need to be careful....

This is why I asked about making your own, after you pay $8-10 for each light, wouldn't it just be cheaper to buy one of the portible light boxes off E-Bay?

Those of you who have those light boxes, when it comes to replacing the bulbs in their lights, are they easy enough to find at your local stores, and how do you know which bulb is the best for the light box?

Thanks to everyone for answering these questions and posting here,
it's very helpful.
