I have that thing from Walmart. It is useless to me. I hate it.
Now I use Kam Snaps. I was using snaps from snap source and hated the setter and the hammering.
Kam Snaps are so great and SO easy. Many colors and the best as far as I am concerned!
Shipping is really fast!
Here is the setter and check out the snaps.

For those that have purchased the tool from Snap Source, did you purchase their mini hammer ($10) too? Or can I just use a regular hammer with their setter?

Thanks.

There is nothing special about their hammer. Use any kind you want. Go to a $$ store cause they often have smaller size hammers.
I finally gave up on the Snap Source snaps tho.
I like the Kam Snaps I'm using now. NEVER any mess ups or miss set snaps.

Hmm, maybe I will go with the Kam Snaps then. I was just looking at the $9 tool vs. the $27 tool on Kam. =) But I did hate hammering the blue Dritz tool, so can imagine the Snap Source one could be frustrating too.

With the Kam pliers, did you add the AWL (to poke holes in fabric)?

Also, are you pleased w/the plastic snaps? I have only used the metal ones from Joanns in the past.

I already had the awl so I didn't get another one. An ice pick works or anything you can poke a hole with.
I LOVE the plastic snaps. They are so much better than the metal ones. They come in all colors and are not heavy like the metal ones.
Simple to put on!
You will not be disappointed.

i dont know im confused. how do you use it ?
I have never used the big yellow ring that comes with it. I just use the pliers them selves. I have never had a problem and find it very easy to use. I will not use anything else now that I have found that!!LOL!!
