Well I had a serger I got at Walmart a few years ago.. I took it back after day 1 because I couldnt even get the darn thing threaded... I just bought a babylock that does the self threading.. It is awesome.. You dont even have to adjust the tension... it is self adjusting... My suggestion is looking into a dealer for this... I looked on ebay and they were selling for more $$$ than the dealer I got mine from ... Plus I got 0 interest for 12 months.. Worth the $$$ to me...

I have a Phaff serger. I bought an industrial serger and sold it because it was too hard to thread. I make window treatments and bedding so I have alot of industrial machines in my workroom. But I wouldn't trade my serger for anything else. I have 2 industrial straight stich machines, US Blindstich machine, industrial ruffler, 6 needle embroidery machine, and all kinds of power tools. My hubby buys me tools for Christmas each year but he always adds a little diamond in there somewhere also. LOL

I love my babylock!!! I sew a lot so it gets a ton of use. I have heard good things from other sewing mama's about the brother 1034d, especially for the cost. I know brother now has the new 3034D... I got one free (when I upgraded my embroidery machine) but I sold it so I don't know how it works.
