need help w/ buying wood burning tool

Ok, since I've decided to take the plunge and buy a woodburning tool, I need opinions BEFORE I buy. Going tomorrow, even though I am terrified from all the horror stories on here.

Anything I should know before I buy?

Brand(s)?

Price?

Tip options? do they come with it? what tip do I NEED for heatsealing ribbon?

oh, we just make up those stories, lol! (not) You just have to be careful. You need to tape down the flimsy stand that they come with, or do like I do and use a frying pan.

I bought mine at HL, can't remember the brand, it came with several tips. I need to take a pic of the tip I use. If you do korkers like I do, you will LOVE your woodburner!

It was about 14 dollars I think, but I had the 40% off coupon.

My wood burning tool is like 950 or 1500 degrees. Sometimes it actually melts and fuses my ribbon together. Can any one tell me if they have the same problem or if they have the one that is 750 degrees and does it work better?
