Default Using Cricut to Cut Fabric/Felt

I have a regular Cricut (not the Expression) and does anyone know if I can cut felt or fabric with it? Thanks for your help!

i cut fabric with it! you getsome stuff called steam and seal2, or steam a seal2 whatever it is at HL and when you cut make sure its turned with fabric down on the mat and i tape mine with blue painters tape, also have your dial(knive) on the highest setting. and do some practice cuts on paper to make sure you get the right size. im had some trouble with it pulling up off the mat in the middle of cutting a few times but i did manage to cut out a few things for my dd shirts!! i dont know if i didnt attach the steam stuff good enough or what cause it would pull alittle too.

You need to fuse the fabric with fusable web. It'll make it stiff (not too stiff) enough so that the knife doesn't move the fabric all around and ruin what you're trying to cut out.

I have used mine the personal cricut to cut fabric with some luck. I used the methods described above and was succesfull now felt that's another story. Im looking for a cheap big shot(sixxiz) beacuse cutting small complicated pieces with it is a waste of my time and felt. jijiji

Bigger images like a 5" heart are no problem but small things like flowers at let's say 2" forget it. I though I was going to brake my cricut when I attempted such thing.

Plus the sixxix cuts fabric as well.

I have cut about 2-3" letters with my cricut expression with no problem for appliqueing on burp cloths. I haven't tried any flowers, shapes, etc. yet though.

You need to have it fused with fusible web and then place the fabric on your mat RIGHT side up.

This is my technique:

Put the heat and bond or fusible webbing on the fabric.
Put a piece of paper on the back of the fabric
Tape the fabric with the paper to the mat. I tape all sides.
I also use the deep cute blade.
