Default disney embroidery and selling?

I have been looking at the disney cards. I'd love to get a few. I know I have heard you can't sell items you use the images on. However, charging $100+ for the card, what exactly is expected? Do they think a mom is going to pay that to make an item or two for her own child and be done with it?
Do any of you sell things with the images on them?
I just can't imagine how they expect you to pay that much and NOT sell things with the images on them.

you have to be careful with companies like Disney they do protect their brand. And they will come after you for infringement I have heard too many horror stories from various crafters. Me personally I just stay away from Disney no matter what craft medium I use.

Other than for personal use I wouldn't try to sell anything Disney!!
They are not very nice about their things being sold by us mere mortals. LOL

Totally agree with the other ladies! I have a Disney machine also and that is about the 1st thing the sales lady told me- that Disney WILL come after people. I think I've erased from my brain that I even have them because I forget to even do things for my own dd!!

Its a shame. I would like to have the Cars images to make some things for my son but it isn't worth the price if it is just for him. I can't, obviously, make things for people for free all the time so I wouldn't use them other than a few things for DS.

I have all the Disney designs, and I would not sell anything with the designs on them. I had an embroidery business for 8 years, and it is not worth embroidering anything copyrighted. Now, for friends, family, and gifts I do it all the time.... I just got some Jack Skellington designs that I am excited to put onto a bow for our next trip to Disneyland.....

just wondering but wouldnt there be ways to get around it make them pay for the tshirt & the emboroidery would be FREE? . [maybe write that in fine writing] overcharge for the shirt the price of the emboroidery. example $15 t shirt FREE embroidery.

or maybe work for tips where there not "buying" the product but tips $20 are required.

i do not have one of these but do dream of it one day & i adore disney like most moms just wondering for an alternative way

I'd bet every angle has been tried to get around selling Disney stuff. And none of it will work for long. Disney is very serious about their copyright. They WILL go after people.
They do have staff that does nothing else but monitor craft fairs, and online sites like ebay and etsy. I know a couple of gals that had things listed on Ebay and they got letters from the Disney legal staff to stop selling Disney things.
Everyone has to make their own decisions if they want to find a way around their rules. For me it is definitely not worth it.

I agree, it's not worth it. I know some sellers on etsy who sell disney outfits and digitized designs. I don't know how they get away with it.

I have one of the Brother Disney embroidery machines. I have only embroidered 2 items and both of them did not stitch out that well. I had to stitch each color twice for it to cover the material. These were the built in designs.

Are the cards any better?
