Default Hot glue?

I really dont know how to say this so.... bare with me!
I find it difficult to put the hot glue on the alligator clippies without the glue sealing the clip together. (How to keep the two parts seperated while glueing?) Do you use a special product or technique? Thank you ladies!

Order some double-sided tape, and you won't have to worry about glue!!! You won't be sorry...

After I typed that, I realized you might not be talking about lining clips----that you might be talking about putting the clip on finished bows!!

I usually hold them open till they are dry, but I have used wax paper before and just clipped them on there and that has seemed to help!

I hold them opened until they dry. I blow on it too, along with burning my fingers from time to time. It just takes practice and for me, a good pair of reading glasses to see what the heck I am doing! lol

Before I started using the double sided tape I used to put little pieces of wax paper between the clips when lining them. It worked pretty well.

I asked this question on another thread and no one answered. How does the double sided tape hold up when wet or if washed?

Also, I line my clips with glue and I start on the inside first and put the glue on the ribbon. I never have a problem with them sticking together.
