Default Re: Anyone have the Brother SE350?

I have the brother 270D(4x4) and it was a good starter machine and sews great too! I upgraded to a babylock Ellure(5x7) hoop so now I use the brother for just sewing mainly, but at Christmas when I get busy I run both embroidery machines to do twice the work. I bought mine refurbished at premiere appliances about 4 yrs ago for $250.00. I had a problem with the first one and I sent it back and they replaced it right away. They stood by there 30 day no questions asked return policy. The second machine has been great and not one single problem with it. My babylock machine was much more expensive($1,000) so I bought it at a local shop so I would have support when i needed it and I have needed it! It was nice to be able to take it in and easily get help. Most shops will offer a free class on how to use it as well. Check the prices at premiereappliances.com

I will also say...I love doing embroidery and it is addicting. Trust me...in one week you won't be happy with doing just an inital on a bow!

I have had mine for about a year and I really wish I would have just spent a little bit more and got a Baby Lock or Janome or even a Bernina. The 4x4 field is just so restricting. You also have to have the software PE basic or PE so you can get new patterns to embroidery. HTH

I did go ahead and order it. It was delivered today. Really, I only want it for doing letters....mostly on ribbon. It came with the free alphabet card which was great. If it doesn't work out great for sewing, I have another machine I can use for that.
I can't wait for 8pm and my kids to go to bed so I can figure it out!

Ah so true!!!!
My first machine had a 4x4 hoop and I figured out real fast that it was way to small.
I thought I was only going to do small designs and I would be happy with it forever! LOL So not true. I very quickly bought another machine, one with a 6x10 hoop and have never regretted it.
I have the magic box and software for transferring designs and a couple of extra cards. I guess I should sell that tho cause I will never use it.
Not that anyone asked but my advice is buy the machine with the biggest hoop you can afford. You will never be sorry you have a large size hoop but you sure will with a small one.
