Unhappy My bows suck with my templates! :(

I have the tabby templates and I didn't get the instructions with them yet, but I tried them anyway and its just not working out! I know i'm probably being petty, but i'm so sad and frustrated. I have always made my bows free handed, but lots of times I had to do it over and over again to get the loops even. And, thats why I bought the templates.
I'm scared now that they aren't even going to work out for me when I recieve the instructions.
Alright, i'm done. Thanks for listening to me whine.

Just out of curiosity... Anybody get templates and not like them?

I think once you get the instructions with them you should be fine. I have NBNG and to be honest, I couldn't figure them out properly without the instructions. I still refer back from time to time, and they come out pretty good! Don't beat yourself up, once you get the instructions everything will make more sense and you'll be popping out perfectly even bows!!

I agree. I have the NBNG templates also and never would have figured it out without the manual. Now I can do them without but I had to read the manual first. You will be fine and your bows will be awesome and straight. Have fun!!!

If you have purchased the Tabby Templates you are able to get all of the instructions on the Yahoo group that is up and running.

I am very new to bowmaking. I have ordered the NBNG templates, watched bunches of videos, made lots of bows, ordered other's bows to learn this art. I am now comtemplating the gatorbite. I really keep telling myself it is just the "making of lots of bows" to get this down.

I actually ordered a large lot of bows from China-Ebay for my booth. They arrived today and their I was trying to analyze their work too.

I haven't worked with my templates enough to see a difference yet but do think the tool will help.

I have the NBNG and sometimes mine still come out crooked too. It seems to be that when I sew them sometimes I am off...I think I'l gonna try to tie them and see how that goes...
