I'm going off memory, but I probably need to research again before I really get one. But I thought that the Circuit would take any brand of dies. I think the problem was that the Circuit dies themselves were not great with felt, but the machine itself would cut it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't remember why I wanted the Circuit over the Sizzix. Maybe it was the price?

I dont work with felt, to be honest felt freaks me out. Just something about the way it feels. My plan is to make appliques for clothing. I just started working with appliques for clothes and I am super excited to not have to hand cut.

Someone else here mentioned something about a deep cut blade or some sort of attachment, I wonder if that would help you cut felt.

Cricuit does not cut felt. Sizzix and Cuttlebug will - their dies are interchangeable but do not work with a Cricuit.

For the appliques I have the Doodlebugs cartridge that I think would be great- it has cupcake, party hat, ladybug, icecream cone, probably more really cute designs! I used the cupcake to make cute party invites for my daughter's 1st birthday.

I want a cricut so bad, but I'm afraid to spend all the money and no use it at all. I'm into scrapbooking and I want to do appliques for clothes too, but still, it's a big investment.

Any idea where it will be cheaper to get one in black friday???

I am a member of the cricut MB no cricut does not cut felt. WM will have exclusive cricut colored expressions on BF for $188. includes 2 carts I believe. The other cart will be $30 each. Michael's is open Thanksgiving and is supposed to have carts on sale the Expression I am not sure will be on sale. The expression is the best cricut to get. You still need a cart to use SCAL. Just to make it work. SCAL is not made by the same cmpy and if something happens to your machine and you use SCAL it voids your warranty My FAV carts are paperdoll dress up and everyday paperdolls but there are about 20 new ones that just came out there are about 120 carts total some are exclusives only. There is a program called design studio similar to SCAL but made by cricut (PROVO CRAFT) however it only works with carts you have. J's will have a sale as well but it is for SAT only. Biglots is supposed to have the small cricut and carts but nothing special. Hope this helps

Joanns have the personal on sale for about $75 on Friday. I already have a sizzix and a ton of dies which I love, but I was thinking about getting a cricut. Only thing is, I'm not entirely sure what to do with it. I don't scrapbook, but I do have young kids, and was thinking it may be good for them when they do school projects in the future etc. Am I nuts? I just think this price is too good to pass on if I am ever going to get one.

This is just my opinion but if you have small children by the time they will need the cricut to do school projects, I'm sure they will be a newer version in the market. My son is in 4th grade and so far he's not doing any projects at all. The cricut will be great to do flashcards but you can buy them at Walmart for $.89 cents.

I saw the BF adds so I'm sure I'll be getting one. Walmart expression $188 comes with 2 cartridges and the other ones are 30 all day friday. Joanns are 28.88 and Michaels are 60% so 27.99-35.99. I didn't see the expression on sale in any of these two adds. But they have the original $74.88 at Joanns and 97.99 at Michaels.
