I love my wood burner! Best $15.00 I have ever spent. Don't know the brand, but I bought it at Michaels. You can pick them up at any craft store. I cut all my ribbon with the wood burner and I typically cut out my shapes with the scisors them seal the edges with the wood burner. HTH.

I have a pair of Gingher scissors (looooove them!) made out of British steel - they were pricey (got them at G Street Fabrics), but last forever (my mom still has her pair from the 70s). They also cut through all fabrics like butter (ok, fine, "buttah"
). I love my woodburner, too. I forget the name brand, but I got it at Michael's and it is dark green with some attachments. I could never go back to a lighter! HTH

Hahaha! Yep! I've got the Gingher (2 pair) and the same wood burner. |

I also have the same woodburner and scissors. The thing about scissors is to use them oly to cut fabric or ribon. No paper at all. That will dull them faster. I have 3 pairs of ginghers and love each pair. You can actually get them on sale or with a coupon at Joanns

Get a ceramic coffee mug and set it down in there when you are not using it for the moment. Do not drop it on carpet, flooring and esp your lap. Keep fingers away. It burns so quickly. Ask me and others how we know. LOL I use the shaft when I have already cut my ribbons, like for sculptures. I can only find my chisel tip so I use that to cut and seal if I am needing ribbon like that. You just go very quickly with a swipe to cut and seal. This is how I do mine.

Practice on some scrap ribbon first, to get the hang of it. Also, for v-cuts, I use the attachment that looks like a flat diagonal with a pointy end. I place it flat against one side (with the pointy end in the center), then do the other side the same way. For a diagonal cut, or horizontal cut, I just put it flat against the barrel of the woodburner. Enjoy your new tools!
