For a metal ruler, I found some in Walgreen's, in the office supply/school supply section. They were 99 cents. One has a non-skid back which is the one I picked so it wouldn't slide all over the glass cutting mat.

I can't post pics right now because the kids are up, but make sure your tool is hot enough. You need to leav it on for 5-10 minutes before you use it. Also, this may sound stupid, but it tricked me once, make sure that you tool is ON. Mine plugs in but also has a switch and I accidentally bumped it off once, so the tool started to cool down. Are you cutting on a piece of glass or tile? Make sure you use pressure!!

stupid question...do you use an actual wood burner or the burner for fabric and ribbon. The burner made for fabric is 3 times higher in price than the wood burner tool.

OK. So I don't know if this will help anyone. Here are the pics of how I seal the ends. I don't do alot of cutting with my tool obviously.

I leave it like that. I left the ribbon on kinda long in this pic so that it was obviously sealed. You just have to swipe it across. You'll be able to tell if it's sealed.
