I think after the pinata, tutu, 10 bows, and diaper cake I'm working on that I have a reason to use it now, to try and cut felt!!
Oh, do you make pinatas. I would love to learn that.

They are very simple, just paper mache. Every football season I make the opposing team's mascot and we have a blast with them! I made a gator 2 years ago and it was on ESPN.

i heard that the cricuit can cut through felt and fabric? does the big shot? does anyone know the pros and cons to both machines? im also looking to buy a machine and i thought the cricuit is more versatile. you can cut a full name without having to change dies for each alphabet letter etc... but i want to cut felt...

Will only the Sizzix Big Kick cut felt? I have a regular Sizzix machine bought back in the old days. I will break it out of its dusty cocoon if it will cut felt.

Can't comment on the cuttlebug but I do have a sizzix big shot and I LOVE it! Its compatable with most dies from other machines, and most importantly is fine with the big dies that cut through felt (sizzix originals and bigz). They have a sale at sizzix.com every Tues and you can buy them cheaply, and they always have stuff on clearance. Right now they have a sale section with up to 80% off.

I use mine to make felt flower headbands and clips, and so far could not be happier with it. Super easy to use and everything comes out so cleanly cut. If you sign up for the sizzix newsletter, you get coupon codes every week to save additional $$.

this is so helpful- thank you! right now i am having my felt cut for me for only 10 cents a piece but she doesnt do fabric and i would really like to have fabric flowers too. i also make the headbands and hats. could you post a picture of one of your headbands or clips just so i can see the flower? also, the website has a sizzix big shot on sale for 69.99 thats hello kitty. do you think its $30 less just because its a hello kitty? also, can you get the die cuts at local stores too or only online? thanks again!

My best friend just bought me the Sizzix Big Shot and some dies as an early birthday present - I love it! Even the look of it is too cute (pink and black). It's my understanding, to answer earlier questions, that the original Sizzix will also cut felt and fabric. Best way to find out, though, is to just play with it. Have fun - I know I will (I love my friend!)

Yes you can cut felt with Cuttlebug!

Felt cuts great with the sizzix originals dies and the sizzix originals dies work in the cuttlebug. So Yes to cutting felt in the cuttlebug itself but no to cutting with the cuttlebug dies.

The reason I bought the cuttlebug was because I could use anybody's dies in it.
