OK so you all have me convinced to buy a hotfix tool and swarovski hotfix crystals. Which tool do I buy?

There is portable battery operated tool on hotfixqueen.com-is that a good one or should I get a bejeweler?

Thanks!!

If you buy online, buy from ebay member Mister Nailhead. He's got awesome prices on his hotfix and he ships very fast. I just got some in the mail from him yesterday.

do they make crystals w/o lead ? I would like to make some things for older girls but I know some have smaller siblings and I just couldn't be responsible for some little one getting hurt. I found some gorgeous s. crystal sandals on line last night and thought it might be a good idea for the summer but to sell on w/ a notice about high lead content.

Thanks for the info - I haven't heard anything about lead - please let me know if swarovski hotfix crystals have lead. I wouldn't want to use them then.

yes, the S's are 32% leaded crystal. Now, exactly what risk they pose I haven't researched that enough. Obviously there is the choking risk that goes with any small embellishment and little ones. The lead risk, I assume (but like I said, I haven't researched it enough) is only if one swallows it.

Does anyone know who does make hot fix crystals without lead?

Thanks for the info - I emailed Swarovski directly to ask about any risk for children. Who knows if they will even be able to answer it - we'll see!
