Default Recs for a Heat Sealing Tool?

My Fray Check is driving me crazy, and I'm ready to purchase a tool to heat-seal my ribbon ends. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good one? Where did you get it? I am pretty clueless on this, so any information would help! Also, I don't sell my bows--I only make them for my daughter and neices--so it wouldn't be cost-effective for me to get a super expensive one. Are there any that are effective but don't cost a fortune?

TIA!!

The best thing IMO is a wood burner, you can get them at Michael's with a coupon!
or you can get them for like 10 bucks at walmart!

If you aren't making a whole bunch everyday, you can use a lighter! I buy them at the Dollar Tree 4/$1.00 and they last a very very long time! Just hold the flame close to the edge of the ribbon so that it melts a little all along the edges. Ta da!

But be careful and practice with your ribbons- learned from experience that organza catches fire very easily and husbands don't like that....

I use lighters as well. Try explaining why non-smokers have lighters in the house..lol
*Also, Organza stinks.. I found that out the hard way too!

I got my woodburner at Michaels with a 40% off coupon for 7 dollars and change. I saw the ones at walmart and they pretty much are the same thing.

I need to make a cutting mat. I've been using my lighter for clippies & does take forever!

I use Aleene's woodburner. I bought it for $20 at Joanns. When I was looking for one, I had the worst luck and couldn't find a cheap one anywhere so I just bought it out of frustration. I'm happy with it and use it all the time so the price doesn't bother me anymore. I just think of it as a really good investment.

Walnut Hollow is the brand Michaels sells. Use the 40% off coupon and it's like $7 and change. Use a piece of sandpaper to clean it between uses and it will last forever. Good luck!
