I was reading through this thread because tonight I got so frustrated with my bow making skills. I don't know what happened. I can't fold a bow for the life of me. It is driving me nuts. So, I am very tempted to get the gator bite. Was wondering what you use to tie your bows with? I usually use elastic thread, but thought it might break easily if I use the gator bite.

I am so bummed. I need some help bad...

Oh Ali...come over here and sit by me!! Cause I stink at this bow making stuff and I bet you could help me! Even if you say you aren't good at it, I'm sure you are better than me.
I have all the instructions everyone says are the best, I have the gator bite and all sorts of clips and things....and I also have a big pile of crappy looking bows that I'm sure my little dog wouldn't even wear.
I don't understand why I can't get a bow to look right.
I can sew anything that the mind can concieve, I can craft about anything but dang I cannot make a bow that looks all cute and pretty.
I have a new granddaughter coming in January and I just don't want to have to buy bows!
Anyone give private lessons! LOL

I was using wire until I ran out. Always forgot to buy when at the store. Since I ran out, I've been using embroid. thread. Both work great for me. Although, with the embroid. thread, I also make a few stitches with it too.

I use the gator bite and tie off with button thread. It is really strong.

I use the gator bite and I love it. I was creasing with a T pin before and it was fine but I figured I would give the gator a try and it made life easier for me. I use Coates hand quilting thread and its pretty strong.
