Hi!

I am new to bow making and this forum is one of the best ever!

I have been gathering ribbons supplies, surfing the internet for more information, etc. There are always so many things out there to buy - gator bite, wood buring tool, sally clips, TOTT, LAMB, etc.

What are some of the gadgets that you swear by?

Cheers

I recommend Totts as well. Great information on different folds! Also do searches for specific tools equipment. There is tons of information. I would also decide what you want to start with and get good practice and expand from there. I am new as well and everytime I see something new I want to try it..not a good idea! I am starting to settle down now and try to focus on one type of bow..once I have that mastered then I will move on. Buy some cheap ribbon to practice with..

Welcome!!!
Definite must haves for me (after my TOTT instructions) are my needle, button craft thread and jumbo sally clip.
I also recommend a very good pair of sharp scissors!!!
Good luck with everything and if you ever need any help just post it to the group

I haven't read what other's suggested, so this may be a duplicate. Along with my wood burning tool, I couldn't live without my 6 inch metal ruler and glass cutting mat.

Thanks everyone for your inputs! Looks like basics are the best! I am unable to get a wood burning tool here. Looks like I will have to order one online and get it shipped over. I tried using soldering iron, 30W and 60W. I sealed my ribbons toasty toast!

The biggest "pain" I am experiencing is trying work out what are the stuff I need to buy, consolidate them and ship them over (and pay one time shipping fee!). I am certainly tempted for:

1. TOTT instructions
2. Pink Lady Bug Bow Maker (I read such great reviews!)
3. Wood burning tool (of course!)
4. Pretty pretty embellishments from HipGirl!

Does anyone know where I can get a wood burning tool online? Maybe I should just get a spare as well. The local craft shop is selling a wood burning tool at US$45 after currency conversion!
