This is exactly how I do mine & they turn out every time. I would get so frustrated when I would tie them together...some would move & become off centered & then they were extremely easy to pull out.

I usually use my fingers to hold the korkers ... my toes just aren't long enough.

I just saw a print ad in Newsweek for those toe things...Newsweek, of all places...

I use the white zip ties like in the electronics dept. or in the electrical dept. of Walmart.
Works like a charm and makes them pretty and round

They zip ties are wonderful, I think they hold the korks tighter than wrapping string around.
