Lycra or Nylon
So, which do you prefer to make baby headbands out of? Lycra or Nylon.
I've never used either of them before but I'm looking into it. I'm assuming that you would need to be pretty careful with the nylon headbands as they would ladder quite easily??? I can't find white knee highs anywhere anyway. I can however find lycra so that's why I'm asking this question. Is it worth my while to purchase headbands already made from the US (I'm in Australia for those that don't know) which adds on shipping or should I just buy some lycra and make my own?
Oh and can I dye lycra easily?

Re: Lycra or Nylon
Don't think it is possible to dye lycra - not a natural fibre so dye will not take. Lycra these days is available in a multitude of colours - try Spotlight or dance shops. Nylon headbands are easy to make, but we don't have the variety or brand of dye that is used in the instructions from the US. I bought a heap of stockings with faulty elastic tops quite cheaply from the US, and since that part gets cut off wasn't a problem. I found the dying process a little hit and miss, and the colour on some of them was a little off. I actually bought a heap already made up from some one in the US last year, and as they were lightweight did not cost very much for postage. Think they worked out around $1 each.
