~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi, pretty new to the bowmaking thang... My glue gun drives me to tears as it leaks & leaves me & my bows tangled up in strings of glue...
Anyways, I bought this new stuff at Walmart called Fabric Fusion-anyone tried that? Will that hold very well? I've heard E-6000 is pretty noxious. I make my bows at night while my daughter is sleeping, I don't really want to have to go outside to make bows late at night or stay inside and perhaps be found dead in the morning! A s But I also don't want to waste money on something that doesn't work (though it was pretty cheap-but I waste too much money on stuff I like & don't need already--no money to waste on stuff I don't & don't need)Thanks
I think fabric fusion is kinda worthless. I got some to try and I left it in my work area on a counter. Well, my 4yo decided one day she was going to make "bows and clothes" while I was gone one day (DH was on duty, of course!) She got into my stuff, cut some ribbon up and slathered it with fabric fusion and left it laying on the floor. I didn't discover it until several hours later when I got back (yeah, I was taking my sweet time shopping.) Anyway, the glue was dry, nothing stuck together and nothing stuck to the carpet!
Try FabriTac. It's a little hard to squeeze out of the bottle, but it works. |
I also struggled with the glue gun,,strings everywhere! I started using E-6000 to do flipflops and have not gotten the glue gun out since. I love the stuff. I screw off the cap, then use a toothpick or popsicle stick to apply it with. I haven't gotten "stoned" on the stuff yet, but I would be cautious if your child(ren) are in the same room where you are working. I actually have my sewing/craft area in a vented laundry room,,,maybe you can find a vented area
Thanks, Lisa Marie. Stupid question, I know; I'm good at those.
