Default Best korker tut?

Hey!

So of all things, I can't seem to make a nice looking korker. I used hipgirl's free mini korker tut...mine came out kinda flat.

Help?

I never used a tut to make them. I just basically did my own thing. I tied mine, not sew. Found out later, not the best way because my daughter took pride in being able to pull them apart.

Still hate making these things!

i don't use any tut - just sew them together and I love making them - getting faster as time goes by. Just keep on working on them - good luck!

best way i found was tho use quite thick thread and hold needle between finger holding end with thimble covered thumb!!!!! and sew away turning korkers bits as you go, push needle back using a ruler lol then tie of!!!

I just posted this link in another thread about korkers. (I've never made them, but I would probably try Method #3 if I ever did!)

I'm still somewhat new to this. I have used method 2 and 3 which was mentioned on previous thread. With method 2 you have to be careful to keep them straight as you pull thread and with method 3 the pattern I was using called for all the ribbons to be put on the needle together BEFORE you pushed the needle all the way through and then sew a couple of stitches to hold all the ribbon in place. MAIN thing is to find out which one works BEST for YOU !!!

I find sewing gives me the best result. I use a heavy thread like for upholstery or buttonhole twist type thread. I use 20 korker pieces (6" long uncurled) as I like a nice, full bow.
