Default Iron recommendations please!

My Rowenta has a crack and leaks water. Gonna need to replace it so I'd love to hear from anyone who LOVES their iron. Thanks!

i love my iron! can you still use your iron without water? i never put water in mine but rather use a spray bottle (avoid those nasty rust spots). i've tried cheap/expensive ones and really don't notice a difference in how hot they get. but i do use a teflon iron plate cover - and never melted anything . . . scroll down on this link - http://www.tryourdesigns.com/BoNash.htm

my best/all time favorite iron is an antique/super old one (before steam irons!) . . . it gets super hot and it's heavy . . . wish they made things like they used to.

Irons and glue guns are gonna be the death of me yet. I can never find an iron that gets hot enough for me. I thought I had it when I spent over $100 for some fancy smachy Rowenta iron. Ha.....lasted a couple of months and leaked so bad I tossed it.
I try to find one with the highest wattage. For years I used an OLD, and I mean OLD, iron that was my moms. It was the best iron ever. It got so hot and had great steam. Then it died, but it was over 50 years old. LOL
And let's don't even get started on glue guns. I probably have 10 of them and don't like any of them.

For glue guns the only one that I think is great is Alienes ultimate glue gun. It gets hot enough to make the glue really stick well.

My husband is ordering me the singer expert finish iron after much research. 1700 watts and happy owners. Its one of my Christmas presents but I get to use it when it gets here since I need it to finish some Christmas sewing.

Thanks for your input ladies!
