Default indoor lighting

Is there any inexpensive way to set up a mini studio in your house? With winter right around the corner I am really hoping to continue taking product shots. The main issue I have is that I have no good natural lighting, and I don't have the budget for all those expensive flashes, also is there any way to do a backround inexpensively?

What type of camera do you use? Do you have an external flash?

I just built a light box yesterday. I made a cube out of pvc pipe and pipe fittings..I think which cost about $4 from Home depot. And then covered all the sides with white kona cotton (about a half yards worth). So in total it cost me about $8 and half an hour to make. Here arr the pics I with it..and these are taken in the garage.

Also..you need at least 2 DAYLIGHT bulbs...at least 75 whites shining directly onto the fabric from the outside.

Oh wow that looks amazing and sounds really easy too...I am very visual though and can't really picture how exactly you did it??? Could you take a pic of your setup? I really need to do that too, Thanks so much!
