I stumbled on this thread and can't believe the nerve of people. Makes me kinda a nervous as a buyer that someone can just close down their etsy shop and start a new one to get rid of negative feedback.

I am willing to help! I wonder what a photo thief would think about being bombarded with emails, feedback, messages, from a bunch of ticked off hip girls.....

this is really bad that this type of thing is happening, I have asked a supplier before to borrow their pic to show my customers colour choices of what could be ordered but would never have done it without permission first. have you tried watermarking your pictures? everything i post is watermarked just in case anyone was to try this with me maybe it would minimise your problems if they were watermarked?

Many of the stolen photos were watermarked and many times you can make our that there was a watermark. They are good at blurring out the original watermark and then placing their own over top of the blurred spot or just cropping out the watermark. Many of the overseas suppliers steal photos as well so they don't mind giving others permission to use them

What about putting multiple watermarks on your images. I know it sucks that you have to do it, but its better then the alternative. I can do watermarks if anyone is needing help!

Yikes she's not very far from me, makes me mad that people do this. What I'm wonderng is how does she get the items done if they arent hers.

I am *just now* (like this weekend) opening my store online so I haven't uploaded many photos of my bows, just a few on Facebook, but I haven't even promoted my Facebook store page yet. Yesterday I finished all the design of my webpage and started adding products. The only thing I have to do this weekend is upload photos and put them with the items.

THANK YOU for starting this thread. I have put a single watermark on photos before but I will definitely be putting it in a prominent (non-croppable) area or use multiple watermarks. I am so glad I read this thread before getting my store completely set up.
