I don't mean this in any way offensively. But you don't have any models listed yet, so appealing to boutiques without a selection of models, is a rough start. I hope you understand what it takes to middle man between boutiques and models, it is not easy. You must be able to track who sent what to who, who has gotten items, who hasn't, who is taking too long to return photos, making sure that the models are providing appropriate quality photos, etc.... I am scared for the day that boutiques no longer even want to deal with models because there are 10 new pages listing models a day. Too many people think they can make a quick easy buck, but its far from easy. I don't mean this offensively, more as a critique that someone should tell you rather than remaining silently. Both photos on the display picture on this page, are not boutique model quality. Modeled photos are supposed to be very VERY visually appealing, and supposed to attract buyers, pull them in, and have people saying omg i've got to have that! not oh that looks cute, but it doesn't appeal to them so much that they want to buy it, so they just browse and then close the page. If I have spoken out of line, I will erase this. Somebody needs to stand up for the boutiques though. There has been too much of a lapse in quality of photos, photos where the model and the item look ok but the location is crap, or models giving excellent quality in comp cards then craptastic photos back for the boutiques who are expecting equal quality and being let down.

I know your daughter is modeling for your page in at least one of those pictures, i didn't mean anything against it, if it is your personal taste, but for most boutiques, they want something of much higher quality. I'm sure i'll receive heat for my post. There are just far too many of my boutique friends getting screwed over and over, mostly by these types of pages because they aren't keeping their side of requirements on photos and such. It is extremely hard to run these pages, and with so many new ones popping up daily, they are loosing popularity fast. You have to have boutiques and models that can back each other up. Having models pay to list, you need to make sure you have something to offer them in return, so you have to have plenty of boutiques, and for those boutiques you have to be able to make sure you have appropriate models and make sure that they are going to return worthy photos for the boutiques in a timely manner. I just more meant it for perspective. I run a page, but i offer my photography services directly, and even doing it that way can be overwhelming, but i couldn't imagine doing it in a middle man way, like Ellie Bean and Little Diamond Models and such. It takes a lot of time and effort to put into these pages. The mothers and photographers spend hours upon hours each day into making their pages work. It is not something to do unless you're absolutely sure to stick with it. If you start a page and 3 months into it, you decide its not easy and its not for you.... all these people would be out money, and the boutiques out product... if you can't get enough interest generated in boutiques or in models it just leaves one side empty handed. It is a tough business to start, so do it wholeheartedly if you do and make sure you can deliver what is required of it.

This was very nicely said.

I want to add....and this goes out to all modeling agencies. Everyone wants their kid to model. It is cute and everyone wants them dressed in cute clothing and hair accessories. What mom doesn't?

However a true modeling agency is not looking for just a cute kid. All babies and children are adorable. That is a given but only a few of them have it in them to model. I would love for all of my daughters to model but as cute as they are they dont have that model bug in them. I have to take like 100 shots of one sitting with my baby just to get 1 good shot of her. That is too much. It should not take that many shots if you are working with a kid that has that gift to actually model.

Also....when a model goes out on the runway they are not showing themselves off. They are having to work that outfit they are wearing. The same goes for photo modeling. Moms tend to aim at their cute kid vs the outfit or hair accessory. When you are taking a photo to show off a creation you need to make sure that your target is the product you are selling. The product(s) needs to be visible so that child needs to be in the right pose in order to show off the target product(s).

Most importantly is the quality of the photography. You need to practice taking good shots and learn how to work a photo editing program very well. Yes, it is good to have a decent camera but even a top notch photographer can get a high quality photo from a point and shoot camera if they knew what they were doing. So I would say your camera plays about 80% of the role of a good quality picture. The rest is up to you.

Hope this helps. I have seen numerous modeling agencies out there popping up like nothing. I hate to say it but not all of them are that great. There may be 1-3 out of each one that can actually produce somewhat decent photos.
