Default Photo Editing Software Preference

I am considering on starting my own mini photography business but I am wondering, for those of you who are photographers, which photo editing software do you prefer?I've been looking into Paint Shop Pro & Adobe Photoshop Elements. But I'd like to know what you guys prefer as a photo editing program before I spend too much money? Or do you guys find the free programs just as useful?I'd really appreciate some feedback! Thanks

I do a lot with PSE and love it. I also use CS4 (at work) but find it cumbersome after PSE. PSE does just about everything I want it to do.

Are you guys familiar with Lightroom 3? Is that something that should be used in conjunction with Photoshop Elements?

My main goal is to get beautiful airbrushed photographs, will Elements allow me to do that?

I've always been a photoshop lover. I am currently working with Photoshop CS5.

I have used PSP and others but prefer photoshop. I like working with the actions.

I started out in Photoshop years ago but years without use and not wanting to invest the $$, I started using GIMP. Its free and my husband's work uses it. Great tutorials and very good product so far.

I am not a professional photographer, but Photoshop CS5 is amazing & I love it.

Lightroom (also by Adobe) is a common & very well liked software that many of my photographer friends also recommend.
