That should work, I don't know much about the camera you are using.. I use a t1i dslr (LOVE MY CAMERA) and from time to time it work I always carry a piece of white scrapbooking cardstock in my camera bag sometimes the lighting throws the camera for a loop and you need to for lack of a better work "train" the camera to know what white is again

If the white balance doesn't work the culprit may be your daylight bulbs.

There are several types of daylight bulbs and they have varying temperatures. You know how if you take a picture next to a regular lamp it's too yellow? The opposite happens with the daylight bulbs and its too blue.

An ideal bulb temp is between 5,000-7,000. Even then you may get some blue hues but after that it really gives a blue tint.

It should say the temp on the box of the light bulb.

At first I thought it may have been the lights, they are about 6500 a believe (lowest I could find locally but still in that range). I tried outdoors, regular indoor lighting and flash but nothing.

I also tried adjusting the white balance on my camera and apparently I can only use premade settings on the camera. I guess this just means that I have another excuse to spend $800 on the canon rebel t2i that I really want. Too bad a have a million other things to save for/buy first.

I guess I just wont be making/buying anything purple! lol

i hate to burst your bubble, you don't need an expensive dslr camera - although they are nice. i have an inexpensive pansonic that has adjustable settings. you just have to put it on manual so you can change them sometimes. but not all cameras have that option. if you have $100 you can spend go shopping for a point and shoot that you can use now. they are convenient to have. then when you can afford the nice canon, you will have the smaller one for backup. i bought mine for like 60 or 80 during a black friday sale a couple of years ago.

toby, my comment was aimed at what she said about wanting a new fancy canon and that now she would "need" to buy it. it was meant as a joke in that the dslrs are nice to have but not necessary.
