Default I just got my new camera! Canon Rebel T1i

So far so good...I'm loving it! Still learning how to use it. I still want the "bokeh" to be more pronounced...meaning MORE blurry in the background. The photography guy recommended purchasing a 50mm lens...Any suggestions/input on this? TIA

Congrats on the new camera!

If you want better bokeh, you want a lens that will go down to a lower aperture. The 50mm 1.8 would be a good choice!

If you want to read more about aperture and bokeh, read my post here:

http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/pictu...ure-bokeh.html

I also did a post about shutter speed: http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/pictu...ter-speed.html

Have fun playing!

Thanks midgetinvasion! I did read your posts last week...I think I will invest in the 50mm...It's only $100 so that seems pretty reasonable for a camera lens...

I shoot a Nikon, but it's funny, both the Nikon and Canon 50mm 1.8's are the cheapest lenses but one of the best lenses!

It takes some getting used to, since it's a fixed lens and doesn't zoom, but the bokeh is to die for.

Posting again to show you a group I'm part of on Flickr that is dedicated to 50 mm lenses: http://www.flickr.com/groups/fiddywhores/

You can get idea of what the lens can do by looking through those photos.
