Default Copyright infringement.

Some of you may have seen this on "another board." I won't go into specifics and name names. But I will give you a scenario just to get your input.

Someone took my photo. They found it on the internet and downloaded it onto their computer and showed it to their customer to sell bows. They now have an order for 30 bows. They posted on the "other board" that they don't know how to make the bows and now they need to know how.

I know that this is copyright infringement. She had no right to take my photo, period. However, I am really shocked that people are saying something to ME in HER defense. Nobody has said anything to her about it. It makes me feel like the bad guy for standing up for my own rights.

Is what she did ethically correct in your opinion?

No one has the right to steal your photos! I had this happen to me recently and I was furious...especially considering the model in the photo was my daughter. Stick to your guns. You are totally in the right.

Yeah, I cringe when I look at pictures of the bows I made in this style when I first started making these bows LOL. I hope her customers are happy. I hope she sends them a picture of her bow before she takes the payment from them LOL.

You are correct. Don't think twice about it. I'm so sorry this happened to you...just know that your bows are so fabulous that everyone wishes they could make them. She will have a tough time trying to make 30 bows that she doesn't even know how to make.

Shelly this person is crazy to think they can copy your bows. Your folds on the tisted are absolutley perfect! I consider myself a crafty gal. And it still took me almost a year before I was happy with my twisted folds. I am drying to see what this gal comes up with!!
