Thumbs down Re: Copyright infringement.

Shelley, I am so sorry that happened to you. That is horrible!

I also think it is tacky for people to create a thread in the "How to Make" section when they just post a picture or link to someone else's bow (like on Etsy) and then ask everyone how they think it is made. I would be upset if I was the seller and I found out a whole board was trying to copy my bow, especially to sell. I have also seen this happen and then a few days later someone create a tutorial for purchase. I don't know what people are thinking and I would be embarrassed to do something like that.

Crazy that there are 5 people who think this is okay. It simply is NOT. Who knows, maybe it happens much more than we realize, since at least 5 people are willing to admit that they think it is fine.

I guess it would be crazy of us to think that those 5 "Yes" votes would explain why they think this is not BREAKING THE LAW! Not to mention morally WRONG.

I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, that maybe 5 people misread the question, and thought they were voting differently. Maybe??

There's no doubt this is absolutely wrong, it must have been that same person stealing your photo who voted yes 5 times...
tell her she can be your salesperson and only then use your photos to get YOU orders...I'm sure her client is gonna make sure she gets the lesson to never do that again after receiving her "professional" bows

Ethically and morally wrong is a certainty... but wonder what these customers are going to think when their bows don't look like the picture. Do people not think of that BEFORE they send off these photos?

I cleared my PMs. I just want to clarify that I have worked things out with this person & it is no longer an issue.

Then there are the numerous copyright violations from bottlecap images, unlicensed printed ribbon, babyleg knock-offs, etc.
I knew there were people out there that were on the same page as her as they openly jumped to her defense. I just wondered if they were the majority now because no one said anything opposing her- just opposing my request for her to stop using my photos and informing her that it was a copyright violation.

I want to see how those bows turned out... Is that bad?

Definitely no cool, and definitely not cool that you are getting heat for calling her out instead of the other way around.

I wonder how those backing her up would feel if it was done to them?
