I find this very wrong too and also just plain dumb. Some customer is going to feel totally disappointed when she receives her order.

That is just plain rude. I've starting watermarking everything now the last couple months - I can't believe the nerve of some people. If you like a style of bow, then make it yourself, practice, then get off your lazy bum and take your own picture. Sometimes taking the pic and editing takes just as much time as making the bow! Don't worry, it's all about karma - the customers are going to be expecting this perfect bow - she's shooting herself in the foot.

Technically if you post the photo here without permission, you are using the photograph without the owner's permission and are violating copyright laws. But it is kind of an unspoken rule within our little bow making society that we all do that and it is generally accepted. Posting a link to a photo is totally acceptable and actually helps bump their store up in Google ranks so anyone that would complain about that is crazy!

I'd like to hear their perspective too. I wonder if these people have a general disregard for the law or what???

I know this is a serious issue, but it is a little comical that she got an order for 30 bows and doesn't even know how to make them...We all know that it takes TONS of practice to make beautiful bows. Can you imagine the CRAP they are going to get, when they are thinking they will receive your beautiful bows?

It just sounds like something out of a comedy.

Yes, this is wrong, Yes, she is wrong, Yes, you are right...

I'm just getting a little chuckle thinking about the look on her customer's face when she delivers the bows

Someone took my photo. They found it on the internet and downloaded it onto their computer and showed it to their customer to sell bows. They now have an order for 30 bows. They posted on the "other board" that they don't know how to make the bows and now they need to know how.

I know that this is copyright infringement. She had no right to take my photo, period. However, I am really shocked that people are saying something to ME in HER defense. Nobody has said anything to her about it. It makes me feel like the bad guy for standing up for my own rights.

Is what she did ethically correct in your opinion?
I'm relatively new here... what is the "other board?" Please PM me if it can't be posted here.

Thanks!
