Ugg, sorry Shelley. I saw some posts, but I didn't open to read them. It was wrong of her to do it that way. I agree that she should have just asked for tips and done it her own way. She did everything totally backward. I wouldn't be defending her - that is just crazy!

Okay, I think we all know that this is wrong, but I'll just put this out there. This person is also FOOLISH. Your bows are amazing! Good luck trying to duplicate them! I hope her customers aren't too disappointed.
Everyone hates to have their photos taken and used. Unless she's a total newby, she knows it's just professional courtesy. You are absolutely in the right here. It's one thing to copy your bow and take her own photo of it. Why not just do that? She knows she's wrong!

Just to clarify for my own sanity! It is considered copyright infrigement if someone posts a pic on here of someone elses design asking for help with either what it is called or how to make it???? I have posted a couple links to awesome items that I absolutely love! Asking members if it is a particular type of bow and such. If this is infrigement I apoligize and will remove all the links I have posted!

Posting links is okay. When someone clicks on a link, they see the original placement of the picture, thus credit is given to the picture's owner. It's not okay to copy and paste the picture only and claim it as yours. What she's talking about is someone taking her picture (not link), and then showing it to customers saying it's her own bow. Customers then placed orders, and she had to come asking how to make it (because it wasn't hers in the first place!!!).

Make sense? Basically, you are free to learn to make whatever you want....just don't claim anything that isn't yours.

This is upsetting to hear and I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Do they not have any sort of conscience? They've got to know deep down that this isn't right.

That and fraud. Same this as people in China taking our pics to represent their knock offs. What a jerk this person is.

You are correct. Don't think twice about it. I'm so sorry this happened to you...just know that your bows are so fabulous that everyone wishes they could make them. She will have a tough time trying to make 30 bows that she doesn't even know how to make.

Oh Ok!!!! I was confused about post #7 when she said that posting on a board. So glad to know I am doing it the right way!!!! I would never want to offend someone, especially on here! You all have been a great help and inspiration to me! How ever I am so sorry this person has done this! If she is on this forum I would like to know! Maybe of she was called out on this she would get the point! And mayber detour buyers from her!! I don't know what people are thinking sometimes!!!! There is no way I would use someone elses pics as my own!!!! Heck that's one reason why Im not selling my stuff! My camera is busted, so I can't take pics! That to me is so obviously unethical!

No, that is definitely not right. That's the same concept as posting someone else's picture to your website & claiming it as your own, IMO.

Shelly this person is crazy to think they can copy your bows. Your folds on the tisted are absolutley perfect! I consider myself a crafty gal. And it still took me almost a year before I was happy with my twisted folds. I am drying to see what this gal comes up with!!
