Default picking out a camera ?

I apologize if this has been answered already but I find you ladies extremely helpful! I am in need of finding a great camera. I recently bought Kodak c813. It is a good camera for outdoor pics but my inside ones suck! (I apologize if anyone has this camera, it just may be me taking the pics.) Anyway, the pics looked ok on the camera but once i printed them out, peoples skin in the pics looked plastic and grainy. I hope I make sense. I am looking for maybe a canon camera. I basically take photos of my family indoor and outdoor. I was wondering if anyone has a canon reasonably priced and doesn't have any trouble with it. What kind is it. To me they have thousands out there but I am tired of going through them all. To sum all of my rambling, I am looking for a camera that takes crystal clear photos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had three Sony's...I had the Mavica that took the floppy disk , I had a cybershot (that was stolen) and then I had the DSC-H1. I recently traded it for a Nikon D40....love it...love it....love it!!! It outshines my Sony's in every way! I even dropped it on the concrete....(sorry ladies JMO) LOL!!

Ooh, I'm glad someone asked this question! I currently have a Sony Cybershot and yes it takes great pics but I recently dropped it and its slowly dying (flash no longer wks, nor the timer or preview) so I'm in the market for a new one. If there's something out there better than the cybershot I'm interested in the details!

Thankyou everyone! It surely has narrowed down the options for me. I went into circuit city and wow, which camera to choose from. I appreciate everyone input and will let you know which one I pick out and it's performance.

I just got the Canon Digital Rebel XTi and I LOVE it. It takes such clear pictures. Before the Canon, I had a Kodak easyshare. It took great outdoor shots, but indoor pictures were very dark. My Mom has a Sony Cybershot and she loves hers too. Good luck with your decision. There are SO many choices.

I have a Canon Rebel xti and I LOVE LOVE it!! Yes, it was a lot of money to spend on it, but WELL worth every penny. I have to small children and with my old camera (SONY Cyber-shot) it was almost impossible to get a good picture, but with my canon it can take such quick shots, I'm almost guaranteed a good shot. I pondered for over two years on whether or not to spend the money, and am soo glad that I finally took the plunge. So that's my two cents!! Good luck on whatever you choose!

Ok, I went to circuitcity.com and took this little survey to see which camera is best for your needs. Only one camera came up for me and my needs and it was a canon. I went and got a Canon Power Shot A590 IS. So far I LOVE it!! It looks like it is going to be what I was looking for. I really don't know until I go print out some pics tommorrow. Thank you to all who responded. I really do appreciate your opinions.
